__Best indian restaurant london
_Anokha Restaurants are a small chain of some of London’s finest Indianfood establishments and I’mwriting from experience; .
Best indian restaurant london - I had taken it upon myself to search for an Indian restaurantI had never heard of to see if London had an Asian treat for me tucked away in a back alley. I was craving those beautiful aromatic spices and flavoursome sauces that only the finest of Indian restaurantsmanage to achieve… but I also wanted something new.
Best indian restaurant london - I phoned my besties who I frequently find amazing new eateries with and together we hunted for a classy Indian restaurant, a hiddengem, in the busy streetsof London. My trusty old palfoundAnokha’s website and after being impressed by the vegetarian selection and by their huge menu- we had a winner.
A hiddengem it definitely was, tucked away down a small back road, it’s lights calling to us from the dark to come and try their “authentic Indian flavours”- and so we did.
The menu is astonishing. The huge choice of dishes they have on offer means there is certainly a dish for everyone. Even the vegetarians are spoilt for choice with their extensive vegetarian menu that Sam (miss “I can’t eat anything with a face”) was delighted to see.
Ichose the JhingaTilTikkaas my starter and BOY was I glad I did. The smell that hit your nose as they were brought over was amazing and as I bit into the plump, juicey prawns I was excited to try my main. The crispybatter wasrich and full flavoured and the prawns juicy and sweet. The spices then came through giving abeautiful warmth that blended with the sweet and juicy flavour of the prawns so perfectly.
I was now so ready for my main and thought I’d try something from the “Anokha Specials” section; assuming that their specials is where I was going to get the best from their chef. This time I decided to go for some meat as I had prawns as a starter and was feeling particularly carnivorous so lamb was looking like a mouth-watering option.Look at that. Right in the middle of the Lamb section of the Anokha Specials is the chef’s signature dish- “AadaGosht”.Yes. Nice easy choice there, show me what you’ve got there chef.
They brought the food over and it was hot and smelling delicious; more-so than the starters, as it should, and instantly my mouth moistened. The way the food was arranged making it even more enticingand even harder to stop myself from drooling all over it. The AadaGosht is described on the menu as “French cut english lamb, cooked Indian style with fresh ginger and green herbs - chef’s signature dish” . I cut into the lamb and it fell apartto show that beautiful and tender pink middle, I nearly drooled again. The first mouthful was a beautiful, subtle, eruption of flavour slowly rolling over my tongue with every slow and savouring chew. The flavour of the lamb and the Indian spices formed a delicious fusion that had a gentle warmth coming through.
The table were absolutely blown away by the food and the yummy noises coming from us only proved just how amazing the food was. I think that Anokha have easily become one of my favourite restaurants to eat at in London and I’d even stretch to say that they were by far one of the best Indian restaurants in London in my opinion. I will definitely be eating there again! Thumbs up!
